We launched our first Flashlight Friday in second grade this week! And it was a huge success! In preparation for third grade, students are being encouraged to read chapter books and what better way is there to read chapter books than by flashlight! Students were each given a flashlight and allowed to pick a spot in the room and get cozy. Once everyone had a spot, we turned off the lights and clicked on the flashlights! For the next 10 minutes the only sound heard in the room was the turning of pages. It was so exciting that I hope we can do this for many more Fridays! Here are some pictures!
