Spelling Tennis Match

Greetings!
As we are approaching spring break, what better way to celebrate than with a tennis match! A spelling tennis match that is! Student used paper plates and popsicle sticks to hit a balloon back and forth as they spelled each spelling word! It was fun! And quite a challenge!

Dr. Suess Week

This week, the first and second grade classes celebrated Dr. Suess week! We talked about author Theodor Geisel, rhyming, read several Dr. Suess books, and even graphed with goldfish! From crazy socks for Fox in Socks  to crazy hats and facing the desks backwards for Wacky Wednesday the students and myself had a great week! Enjoy these pics!

Learning Perimeter

Last week, students participated in a great hands on activity to measure perimeter! Each team worked together to find the perimeter of their shape that was taped to the floor. Measure each side and add 'em up!

Flat Stanley is on His Way!

For those of you who do not our friend, Flat Stanley, he is the main character in the book series that we have been reading since the start of school.Stanley is a boy that was flattened by a bulletin board in his room one night and then proceeds to take many adventures around the world by mailing himself to different places. We have taken it upon ourselves to decorate our own Flat Stanleys and mail them around the world! The kids did a fantastic job on their Stanleys and we are looking forward to tracking them and receiving pictures of Stanley traveling the world!
