Taking Care of Our Teeth
Today in science we talked about our teeth! We discussed how to keep our teeth healthy by brushing them, seeing a dentist regularly, and of course eating healthy! Here are some pictures of the students cutting out some different food pictures and pasting them under healthy looking teeth or unhealthy teeth! And then of course we had to add some teethy smile pictures!

Puppets!
On both Tuesday and Wednesday, the second grade had some special guests come by the room! The high school speech students dropped in and read a story to us using their puppets! The speech class ha been practicing using puppets while reading to tell a story. The students loved it! Both stories were hilarious and with the added puppets it made for a fantastic time! We heard The Fox and The Little Read Hen and How to Babysit a Grandpa. Here are some pictures!

We used dry erase markers to draw clocks and then practiced both digital and analog times. The students did fantastic and it was fun to write on the tables!

Habitat Projects and Presentations
Can't believe that school is almost over! To wrap up the year, students completed one last project and presented them on Friday. Each student chose an animal and completed a habitat diorama for their animal! Students then researched their animal and presented their diorama and facts to the class. We has some very creative projects and students did a great job presenting to the class! Thank you for all your help parents!

Spelling with a Twist!
Why just chant your spelling words when you can swat at them on a twister mat?! Students took turns spelling out their words by swatting each letter with our phonics swatters. Each color on the twister mat has a different letter....swat them and we can make spelling words!
