Word Surgery

This was such a fun activity that I had to share it with you! The students turned into surgeons in order to perform word surgery. Students were paired into teams and performed surgery on two words to turn them into one contraction. They were given masks, gloves, scalpel (scissors), stitches (tape), and an apostrophe (band aid) to complete their surgeries. The contraction turned out fantastic, and the students had a great time! More importantly we learned to form contractions!  Here are some pictures from the day!
